DRV Health is here to support you through one of the most important and transformative times of your life. From the moment you discover you’re pregnant to the months after childbirth, our experienced GPs provide comprehensive care tailored to your individual needs.
Many of our GPs are accredited to provide antenatal shared care in partnership with public maternity hospitals and private obstetric services. This model allows you to see your local GP for most pregnancy visits, while still accessing hospital services when required.
Antenatal care is not only about physical health; it’s also about building confidence, preparing emotionally for parenthood, and ensuring you feel supported at every stage.
Trimester check-ups: blood pressure, weight, urine checks, fundal height, and foetal heart monitoring
Investigations & screening: blood tests (blood group, antibodies, iron, thyroid), early and mid-pregnancy ultrasounds, gestational diabetes screening, and third-trimester bloods
Vaccinations: pertussis (whooping cough), influenza, and COVID boosters if due
Mental health & emotional wellbeing: routine screening for perinatal anxiety and depression
Birth preparation: discussions about birthing options, hospital arrangements, and pain relief choices
In Victoria and most states, shared care means you can attend most of your visits locally with your GP, reducing hospital wait times and maintaining a trusted relationship while pregnant .
We ensure you feel confident and well-informed at every stage of your pregnancy, with care that’s both clinical and personal.
The first weeks after your baby’s arrival are a time of adjustment and healing. DRV Health continues to support you with dedicated postnatal visits, usually at 1–2 weeks after birth (if needed) and a comprehensive 6–8 week postnatal check.

Fertility can return as early as 3 weeks after birth if you are not exclusively breastfeeding. Even if breastfeeding, ovulation may still occur unpredictably. Choosing a safe and effective postpartum contraceptive method helps prevent an unintended pregnancy and allows you to focus on your recovery and your baby’s first year.
We will discuss options with you at your postnatal check, taking into account whether you are breastfeeding, your medical history, and your future family plans.
Becoming a parent is rewarding but can also feel overwhelming. At DRV Health we:
Screen for perinatal mental health concerns at both antenatal and postnatal visits
Refer to local supports such as Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia (PANDA), community maternal child health nurses, and lactation consultants
Provide continuity of care with a GP who knows your history and your family
Whether you’ve just discovered you’re pregnant, are planning for birth, or are adjusting to life with a new baby, DRV Health is here to provide safe, supportive, and comprehensive care.
